Arts

I always bump into art exhibitions… hmmm maybe I look for them, or they look for me. Who knows? Is it because I am a modern and contemporary art lover?

Every time I plan a trip or a vacation I look for the best Art Museums and if there are any Exhibitions going on. I studied Art History many years ago, and I always feel like there’s something to learn in front of an art masterpiece. It is not necessarily about the techniques, the author, or the correlation

with the art trends of the era.

It is about the emotions it conveys. How your body reacts. What your brain starts to think of. This is the most important thing, to me.

I started crying in front of Guernica of Pablo Picasso at Reina Sofia Museum, in Madrid. I remained in silent contemplation in the Rothko Room at Tate Modern, in London. And I was grateful to Botticelli staring at the Spring,  at Uffizi Gallery in Florence. But I breezed in front of All, by Maurizio Cattelan at Italics art exhibition in Venice, at Palazzo Grassi.

As I told you here I am Italian. For some reasons, we have a connection with art. We come from the Renaissance, we dealt with Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Botticelli, Bernini, Caravaggio and many others, since our first school years. Sometimes lessons were boring but, in the end, some good notions remained in our brains.

And I was curious enough to deepen what I felt was most important to me. I developed an attitude, towards contemporary art. Don’t ask me why: I simply like it. I hate those who say “I could have done it”. No you couldn’t! Simply, you didn’t. You were not that genius, I am sorry man!
